“A Story of “K” -Something sad in the scene”
Komori Haruka + Seo Natsumi

Motivated by the words of a person from the affected area by the huge tsunami of 2011: “Though it’s too hard for me to face it, please witness the current situation,” Haruka Komori and Natsumi Seo filmed the entire affected coastal area. Komori captures in videos the situation and words of people as they are, while Seo composes the text interpreting the words and time on the spot afterwards. Through the work, the two artists try to convey the affected area they witnessed “as faithfully as possible”.

「私は辛くて見られないけれど、今のこの状態を記録しておいて」という現地の人の言葉がきっかけで、小森はるかと瀬尾夏美は、青森から茨城までの沿岸部の様子を撮影し始めた。本作はそうした活動のなかで、2011年 4 月から繰り返し訪ねている陸前高田に住むKさんの記録を中心にした映像、テキスト、スケッチによる作品。小森の映像がその場の状況や語りをありのままに伝え、瀬尾のテキストはその場の会話や時間を咀嚼するなかで生まれてくる。自身が見た東北を「できる限りそのまま伝え」ようとする作品。
